BACKCOUNTRY SKIING & RIDING

Come learn the basic skills that will unlock the skiing/riding opportunities that are waiting for you in the Cascade backcountry. We will teach you how to play safe to enjoy the endless winter wonderlands that lie beyond the lifts.

Open to skiers and boarders alike, this course teaches basic backcountry skills including:  safe route finding, snow pack assessment, beacon basics, and proper use and care of backcountry equipment. 

Intermediate or above riding ability required.  Participants need to provide their own ski/boarding equipment.  We can assist you if you wish to rent in the Portland area.

 

Price:  1 person - $250, 2 persons - $150 each, 3+ $120 each. Includes guides, transportation from Portland, and lunch.

 

Oregon Peak Adventure guides are avid ski mountaineers, Wilderness First Responder certified, and Avalanche I certified.
