Alpine Mountaineering

This fun day of training will prepare you for basic snow/glacier climbs and surviving snow covered alpine hiking trails.  The class is held near Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood and covers the following topics and skills:

bulletIce axe self-belay and self-arrest techniques
bulletSnow travel techniques
bulletSnow anchors and belaying
bulletRoped travel
bulletGlissading
bulletKnots for snow climbing
bulletClothing and equipment for snow climbing

COST: 1 person - $250, 2 persons - $175 each, 3-10 persons - $150 each. Includes instructor(s), round-trip transportation from the Portland area, ice ax, harness, and group climbing gear.
