Portland has a long history of connection with Asia.  This is reflected by the presence of exquisite Japanese and Chinese gardens.  Additionally, the Portland Art Museum has an extensive Asian Art collection.

Our day starts at the Japanese Garden where we leisurely stroll through the beautiful, serene grounds.  From there we take a short drive to our new Classical Chinese Garden, "The Garden of Awakening Orchids".  Occupying a full city block in Portland's historic China town, this is the only authentic classic Chinese garden outside of Suchow, China.

Once we have calmed our inter-being in the traditional garden setting, we take a short walk to a Din Sum Restaurant to feed it.  After lunch we drive to the Portland Art Museum to tour the Asian Exhibit and any other areas which interest you.
