Introduction to Backpacking focuses on those skills essential to enjoying the Wilderness backpacking experience. The course covers equipment, trip and menu planning, cooking, camp site selection and preparation, and leave no trace camping techniques. A classroom orientation session provides a comprehensive overview and we take a leisurely three day backpacking trip through the delightful Indian Heaven Wilderness to practice our skills.  Includes instructors/guides, transportation from Portland, group equipment (tents and kitchen), and meals.

Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District:

Price - $370 for In-district Residents.  (If you are out of district [essentially east Washington County], a $208 fee is accessed for individuals/households.)  If you are out of district, the PCC class will be better for you.  Please call us at 503 297-5100.
